INTERMEDIATE LEVEL COURSE

It is highly recommended to first study the INTRODUCTORY LEVEL COURSE to be familiar with a new simple Box and Limbo method using only the E and B strings to identify all the Scales for a Chord Progression and any Key Changes before applying these more involved full Scales on the G, B and E strings.

Course Overview

Learn how to apply full Scales and the complete Modes for a Chord Progression:

  • using only the high three strings of the guitar, called Partial Scales.

  • staying usually in the same Scale Position for Key Changes.

  • including Chords that are Secondary Dominants, Borrowed, Major V and Major III

  • featuring newly identified Scales for Augmented Chords and Diminished Chords being Altered Modes with Stacked Third Intervals and three extra Notes but No Consecutive Semitones (NCS)

Example of a Scale Diagram for a partial Aeolian Mode for first type of A Minor Chord.
